Utility: Horizontal Drilling Machine

Directional horizontal drilling machines tunnel under some of the most difficult natural and man-made obstacles in order to install underground utilities. These machines operate all over the world in every climate and in all manner of soil and hard rock conditions.

GS Hydraulics worked closely with our customer from the start to develop this machine to optimize safety, durability, efficiency and low maintenance operation. The electro-hydraulic closed-loop system precisely controls the drill carriage to minimize mechanical stress and maximize drilling productivity. All drill functions are proportionally controlled using closed-loop electro-hydraulic control valves. A fully configurable CAN controller with color display provides the operator friendly man to machine interface. The controller’s diagnostic system provides easy to understand error messaging for preventive maintenance indications and error event logging.
